SATA drivers by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I have an A7V8X mb. I am considering 2 Hitachi 80gb sata drives to set up as
raid0. To install these drives and run them as raid0, where does one find
the drivers (F6 on installing XP) for the raid configuration? Thanks.
Thanks.
Colonel Blip.

SATA RAID0 on a dual boot w2k/xp pro system by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
My system is dual boot w2k/xp pro. My current intentions are to install two
new identical SATA drives, loading the RAID0 drivers as part of installing
a new w2k OS and in the course of it partitioning the drives into 3 or 4
partitions.
I then want to install a new instance of xp pro...

Changing motherboards with RAID0 by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I plan to install RAID0 next week on an Asus A7V8X m/b system. Some time
later this year I hope to change out to a A8V socket 939 board. Question:
will I be able to simply disconnect/reconnect the RAID0 drives to the new
board similar to being able to disconnect/reconnect IDE drives...

Gigabyte or Abit or Asus by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I'm interested in getting a 939 socket m/b and an Athlon64 3000+. I've
always been an Asus m/b person, but thought I would at least test the waters
on views of the Asus vs. other m/b's. Any views on 'best' of these three
manufactures for socket 939?
Thanks.

A8V Bios version by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I currently have 1009 version bios installed on my Asus A8V Deluxe m/b and
frankly, it doesn't seem to have any problems. I was wondering if others
here have found flashing up to version 1011 to be worth changing or is it
less stable?
Thanks,
Colonel Blip.

Help - Overclocking an Asus A8V by
Colonel Blip
Hello, All!
I have the A8V and Athlon64 3000+. Checking via EverestHome I find that this
is a Rev 1.x board. I've read comments, without details, that this combo can
not be overclocked. I've also seen comments that others 'thought' later bios
revisions solved a locked multiplier problem.
Those in...

Memory question about GA7VRX by
ComputerSmith
Hi all.
I inherited a GA7VRX XP1800+ machine (not brand name) with 512MB RAM - not
presently O/C'ed.
I was getting BSODed 2-3 times per hour (hence me inheriting it ;-) )
whereupon it instantly rebooted; after changing that, I was able to read the
message "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area"...
I...

Mouse = noisy!! by
ContactGT
Possible the wrong place for this question, but here goes anyway...
I have just finished upgrading my PC. Not a speed improvement, but a noise
reduction exercise. I have replaced almost all of my 9 fans with large
copper passive heatsinks. I now have 1 exhaust fan (rewired to run silently
at 5v),...

water setup (pics) by
Corey
A7V classic running an AMDXP 2100 at 2020mhz. That's the OC I have so far. There is a jumper setting that POSTs to 2300 mhz but no Windows. That was with air cooling. I haven't tried 2300mhz with the water yet.

AMD 233 and 333 for trade... by
Corey
I just realized I have a K6 233 and a K6-2 333 laying around not doing
anything. I was just wondering if anyone could use these. I would be
willing to trade. I'm looking for a few older games like Jedi Knight 2 and
the Microsoft Rally game. Also any parts that deal with water cooling a PC
would...

Swift Pump by

My Swiftech pump is leaking. I thought I read somewhere that it was also a

that affect my pressure if I do? Thanks.

OEM or Retail CPU? by
Coron
decided to build my own PC, never done it before and would like to overclock
it in future to get my moneys worth - there's XP processors packaged with
fans that you get a 3 year guarantee with and then OEM versions, no fan, £5
cheaper. Assume the fan in the retail package will be no good...

Athlon XP temperature by
[email protected]
Hello all,
This is not an overclocking question, but I'm sure you guys will know
the answer. I have an AMD Athlon XP 1900+, running at default speed,
default voltage, etc. on an Asus A7V266-C motherboard. Nothing is
overclocked or anything, just standard. Until yesterday, I had my PC
with its guts...

Made myself a ghetto fanbus for almost free... by
Cory Dunkle
My bis-ass 80mm Delta sitting atop my Alpha PAL8045 makes a lot of noise at
the full 12v. I ran it at 5v for a while but when the ambient temp got too
high it would crash occasionally while gaming, though oddly enough it is
stable at 5v on the fan cranking SETI at the desktop. In any case, I...
