I just purchased a Maxtor OneTouch external drive. According to the package, the USB cable that came with it is supposedly "USB 2.0 certified". Currently, I have the drive connected to a USB cable that was already plugged into my PC. I didn't think that there would be a distinction between...

Hard Drive Humming when Spins?? by Al Franz
My hard drive has started making a very faint humming noise when it spins. Kind of like an insect you would hear outdoors, if that makes sense, not a loud grinding noise. Is this something to worry about? Is this a pre-cursor to something serious?

LCD TV as Monitor? by Al Franz
Confused when I see LCD TV's advertised with VGA or DVI adapters on them. Does this mean it can function as a computer monitor or would the picture on a LCD TV be of much less lower quality then a product labeled LCD MONITOR? Thanks.

As long as you are not installing a PCI-Express Video card is it ok to plug in a 20pin powersupply into a 24 pin motherboard. If I ever would upgrade the onboard video to a PCI-Express card then I take it you need to get an approved Power Supply with the 24pin connector? Is my...

Has anyone used some of the newer motherboards with both SATA and UltraDMA drive connectors. How does the BIOS determine boot order of the hard-drives? Can you specify if you want it to boot from the first SATA drive or the first UltraDMA drive in the BIOS?
