ATI AIW9800Pro & MMC9.14 TV app by
/mel/
Is there any way to completely prevent buffering with this combo (I forget
the term - encoding, storing in circular buffer, decoding). I have no
interest in this facility, and it's just causing problems with audio echo,
audio out of sync, etc etc.
Omega drivers, with latest WDM drivers.
There, I...

TV tuners - the competition by
/mel/
My last two cards have been ATI AIWs (8500DV, 9800Pro). However, I'd quite
like to move away from the constraints of a combined graphics and TV tuner
card. One feature of the AIW that I do like is having the TV as desktop
wallpaper. Does anyone know if any other make of TV tuner card has...

Windows update and drivers by
/mel/
Remember folks, it's never a good idea to allow Windows Update to update
hardware drivers, even if it's an update for your AIW Remote Wonder and not
your actual video card.
Yes, the recent "X10 Wireless Technology Inc. - Other Hardware - ATI Remote
Wonder" stuffed my remote, but rolling back the...

Why, why, why... ATI? by
/mel/
I swore that after the AIW8500 I'd not buy another ATI card - by the time I
got that working properly it was obsolete. But I ignored my own advice, and
now I'm suffering for it.
I briefly had an AIW9800SE, which was okay but which is being returned
(again) as it was supplied in error (but that's...

Sapphire 9800 AIW variants by
/mel/
I'm still having problems with a particular dealer trying to supply me with
a non-Pro AIW 9800 card when I've ordered and paid for the Pro variant.
Could someone confirm for me that the part number printed on the PCB for the
Sapphire AIW9800Pro is 109-95700-10? I believe that the Sapphire...

So many variants, so little time by
/mel/
I've given up trying to figure out the performance differences between 9600,
9700, 9800. Then there's bog-standard or SE or Pro. I do know what AIW is at
least.
So, question: is a 128MB 9800Pro AIW a reasonable upgrade for my ageing 64MB
8500 AIW? Yeah, I know, 256MB would be better. I'm not into...

AIW8500DV tuner problem - recent MS DirectX update? by
/mel/
(I'm having a conversation with myself here, but hopefully it might help
others).
If you have an AIW do NOT install the DirectX 9.0b update. I found the
thread at http://tinyurl.com/hxor which shows that others hare having tuning
problems too.

How to disable SBA?! by
02213
I have ATi R9500Pro videocard and ASUS motherboard with nforce2 chipset.
Every 3D game I can play for max. 2 mins and then it kicks me out to desktop!
Fastwrite and AGP 8X are disabled in BIOS but I can't disable SBA anyhow!
In old versions of Catalys drivers that was possible through ATi Control...

Looking for advice on buying card by
02935
I'll be purchasing a new system soon with the P4 3GHz 800FSB and D875PBZ
combo but I don't want to spend hundreds on a video card. What card would
you suggest I should get? There're so many...Radeon, Leadtek, Asus...I have
no idea.
Thanks.

dual view - whats wrong ? by
[email protected]
Sometimes the desktop appears on the 2nd monitor, but
if i change something, anything in the control center, it vanishes.
Thats pretty much annoying and it takes alot of tries to make
the desktop to appear again on the 2nd monitor.
Is Ati as stupid as Nvidia, or can this be fixed ?

ATI 8500 and W2k: only trouble by
[email protected]
Hello
Friends of mine had bought a Radeon 8500 several months ago. It
worked fine with W98SE but after changing to W2K it worked fine
only for a limited time after which the computer had to be rebooted.
The period of error free function was not reproducible, it ranged from
1 min to maybe 30 min....

AIW 9000Pro - Recording a TV program in the Background? by
2005
Hi
On AIW 9000Pro, how can I record a TV program in the Background?
When I program it to record, when the recording time comes, it opens up
the TV window and it gives the program and sound while recording
(pre-programmed). Another window shows that it is recording.
Is it possible to not to have...

Hey I hope someone can help me. I bought the all in wonder 9700 pro

TV Tuner doesn't show up on device manager by
444
After I reformatted my HD, I've noticed that my TV Wonder card isn't
showing up in the DM. I've tried installing the driver and MMC, but in
both cases they quit without warning. I read on their site that the
TVW needs an ATI graphics card -- that can't be right? I'm on an
nVidia GeForce 2, Win98SE,...
