prebuilt "quiet" computers? by
Tim Wright
Hi,
A friend is interested in buying a budget PC (just for web surfing,
maybe a bit of limited home movie editing). He's expressed interest in
getting something quiet, though - does anyone know of any (reliable,
naturally!) dealers who can build a machine using things like silent
PSUs, quieter CPU...

Does Dell make its own motherboards? by
Kaptain Krunch
Dell, Compac, e-machines all DO NOT allow you to change Motherboards in
their machines... They want you to buy DELL etc. Parts. If you want, go to
a computer show in your area and buy case, PS, MoBo, etc and put your own
together.

I imagine finding an external modem from a brand you can do any research

Bloody 0870 numbers!! Geographic alternatives? by
[email protected]
I ordered a bunch of hardware this week from different suppliers this
week, and today have the pleasure of chasing up some of them to find
out where its got to.
If there are any suppliers reading this post - I don't mind holding for
a few minutes when you're busy, but I do object to paying 50p for...

Anton G’sen
Got carded 5 minutes before I woke up this morning by BusinessPost.
Rung the depot, the woman who answered the phone rang the driver while I
was on hold and said the driver would drop by again this afternoon,
which he did! Very nice bloke he was too.

Hi I have a digital camera and was looking for a method of storing my
pictures when I am on holiday. Are there any cheap laptops or something else
I could use to store my pictures. I am a bit paranoid about losing my camera
and pictures as I had a camera stolen while on holiday once. Luckily? I...

Oh dear....
I have used Microwarehouse quite regularly and they have been excellent.
Next day delivery always arrived next day, even when the order was placed
quite late. They also answered the phone promptly and were very helpful.
Yesterday I placed an order with them as usual and received...

Standard Terms & Conditions for new business website? by

I'm about to launch my own website selling PCs (amongst other things.) Does
anyone know where I can obtain a standard set of Terms & Conditions for
free, which I can then personalise for my own business? Obviously, I'm not
looking to lift them straight from somebody else's business site! :0)

You might have read the saga of the aeolus 6600gt graphics cards a few

Dabs - you'll like this by
Bandit
I have a trade account with Dabs but I'm begining to wonder why.
I ordered a laptop from them but when it was delivered I realised that
it had Windows XP home edition with it & my customer would have prefered
XP Professional. My mistake, but it wasn't a big problem & XP home would
have been ok....
