Backup application with hook/callback option by
Menny Hamburger
Hi,
Can anyone point up a backup application that issues hooks/callbacks
on the backup agent side. I would like to receive a callback/callbacks
specifying what files are about to be backed up without using an NDMP
agent.
Thanks,
Menny

XDSM by
Menny Hamburger
Hi,
Does anyone have information regarding the future of the XDSM
protocol:
Will Veritas/Legato/Tivoli that currently support this protocol in
some of their products, continue to do so in the future.
All the links I find regarding this are old/cached links.
Thanks,
Menny

Hey - I figured this was the perfect place for my question. I'm in the
process of studying up for the SNCP FC-Level 2 exam. I know when I looked
into this about a year ago Tom Clarks first book was the one to read. Is
that still true ? I'm just a little nervous and want to make sure...

HDS 9570V - Cabling Diagram by
Andy S
Hi,
Anyone know where I could get a cabling diagram for the back connections of
an HDS 9570V ( RK to RKAs). I've received an HDS 9570V in pieces and now
I've got to put it all back together again, unfortunately with minimal
documentation.
TIA

Storage bottleneck when using RAID 1 ? by
[email protected]
I have a UNIX server that hosts some fairly large Informix tables and
recently the servers performance has degraded quite dramatically. After
investigating further it appears that this is down to a storage bottleneck,
the server is around three years old and I just upgraded it's CPU's (dual...

More drives = faster RAID 5 ? by
[email protected]
I've question regarding RAID 5, is there any benefit in going beyond 3 hard
disks when you're using RAID 5 ?.
Obviously if you need huge amounts of storage then 'yes' but if you have
modest storage requirements (say 8 GB) and need faster read/writes is there
any benefit from having more disks ?...

ArcServe vs. BackupExec by

Hi!
We've been using ArcServe for NT/W2K for a number of years. Our
software vendor is pushing us to switch over to BackupExec ("it's got
a clearer roadmap").
I'm trying to analyse the sales bumpf from both companies to work out
if one is clearer better than the other.
Have any of you guys used...
