HP 3200C on WIN-XP by
Tom Stephenson
I have an HP3200C scanner connected to my system (via parallel printer
port).
It has worked in the past although the function has been flaky. I
found that the power save software would cause the computer to take
five or more minutes to shut down.
I renamed that file so that the power save feature...

Problems with Canon & Epson scanners by
[email protected]
A few weeks ago I bought a Canon 5000 scanner and used it mainly to
scan slides. Some of the scans had a horizontal blue line across the
middle and bands of small coloured squares on some others. I took it
back and got an Epson 2400 scanner. The slide scans are good but a bit
of the top and bottom...

Power Adapter for HP ScanJet 5470c by
David J. Owens
The power adapter for an HP ScanJet 5470c got separated from the
scanner. I found two power adapters in a closet that might be the
one that came with the scanner. How do I tell which one is the
correct adapter? Does anybody know the output specs for the adapter?

What DPI scan = paper print? by
Alfredo
So I want to scan some precious family photos from the 30s up to the
2000s.
I would like to preserve all the detail that is in the original print,
in the scan.
Question is, at what DPI should I scan these prints so as to preserve
all the detail in the precious, irreplaceable original pix?
Are...

Epson GT5000 by
Fuzzypeg
As usual, Epson do not update their drivers for new operating systems and
although scanners can get old like some of us, if they still function, why
the heck get rid of them because Epson want us to buy a new one.
Does anyone know how I can get my GT5000 to work with Windows XP Home
edition...

Canon vs Epson by
Daniel
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can provide feedback on which 2400 dpi scanner
would perform best. Have been looking at the Canon 5000F and the Epson
Perfection 2400. Both are about the same price- a little under $200 - fits
my budget. The Canon has the FARE enhancement software which sounds...

4 X 5 Transparency adapter by
Paul Handley
Epson has a Transparency adapter available as an accessory for the 1650
scanner but does not mention the 2400. I was wondering if it will fit the
2400 as well.
Thanks in advance
Paul

Have recently inherited HP5100C parallel port scanner
Running WIN200SP1 finally got software to work correctly but scanner may
have been moved significantly without being locked down. The light bar

please compare by
LesU
"Microtek 6800 flat bed" versus "Epson perfection 3200 photo"
for slide, general scanning, and OCR.
Out of the box software value (don't want to have to pay extra,
kills the comparison)
Comments? Recommendations? Brickbats?

Epson Perfection 3200 by
J. Smith
I have one and love it - but not for scanning 35mm slides. Don't think any
flat bed scanner will really do a good job on 35mm. It does a fine job with
120.

save scan files to .pdg by
rb
I have some magazine articles I would like to scan and save. I'll probably
have 15 pages or so. That many .jpg or .gif files will be pretty bulky to
send around to the recipients.
So, I was thinking of .pdf files instead. Question being how I go from
scanned image to .pdf files.
If someone...

Microtek Scanmaker 5900 & B&W Transparencies by

Greetings!
I just bought a Microtek 5900 scanner and scanned a few color prints. The
quality is really quite good!
However, I am having trouble making the settings for scanning b&w transparents,
line art, halftones, etc. I am not finding any detailed documentation on the
