Laptop won't boot. When i plug in the power connector only the battery light is flashing 8 times. A few seconds nothing, then again 8 times flashing. No other activity, the cpu cooler fan seems to be death also. Anyone familair with this problem?

I'm getting very very dim display on my 1270. I've now put in 3 different LCD, 3 inverters and am getting the same result. The display is actually so dim that it is almost not able to be seen. Does anyone have any idea of what is wrong and what I need to do to fix the problem? Thanks, Michael
