Hello all, I have a Sony Vaio pcg-fx501 laptop (about year 2000/2001 I think) which sports a Mobile Duron, 1Ghz, Morgan core. It runs very hot so I'm looking to underclock and or, at least, undervolt it slightly. There is, as far as I can see, no facility in the bios for this so I have to go...

65c+ temps at idle on celeron d 3.06GHz by Luvrsmel
not overclocked but the system was given to me as a junker because of "overheating." The bios was reading 90+C and I could only read it for a second before the system re-booted itself. So I replaced the fan and HS with a copper core intel HS and the temps are now in the mid 60's as according to...

Newbie needing step by step ! by Phil[_14_]
Have not a clue where to start - bought the new Pentium E6300 2.8ghz (or relatively new anyways. Newer than the Conroe 1.8 E6300 anyway !) and have been told that taking it up to 4.0ghz isn't out of the question. I'd be happy with less than that TBH. Also, how can I "up" my 4gb of DDR2 sdram...

Hi there, I have got some rather old Pundit-R along with an Intel Northwood Celeron CPU (2 Ghz). I was quite happy with it when it was in the storeroom but now as I moved it to my workroom its noise is starting to annoy me. I hope that I am right here as I expect overclockers to know best...
