Socket 479 (pentium "M") processor for gaming (FS2004) by
Lorenzo Sandini
Hi,
My son uses an ASUS P4P800-SE with a Prescott 3.2. The CPU draws a lot
of current and gets quite hot, and it also makes the PSU's fan spin like
mad. With a Northwood 2.6, the whole system is much quieter, but heh,
someone else needs the Northwood.
I wonder if anyone here as experience with...

Question about Pentium 4 m? by
Richard Ragon
I'm thinking of building a thin client linux box. And I was thinking of
using a mini-itx motherboard made for a Pentium Mobile chip. What are
my options in chips? do they make a Celeron for the Pentium mobile 4?
Thanks

It looks like Intel will try to do the same thing next week at its IDF:

Intel Matched Memory Classic by
tvdog
I recently got a Matched Memory Classic card on eBay. I'm trying to
install it in a Tandy 1000TX (my hobby). The problem is that when I go
to configure it, the software tells me I need to install the "PC plug"
if I'm going to use the card in an 8-bit slot. You guessed it, the plug
didn't come with...

Dell, Intel's "whore" losing loyalty battle by

But Canada's version of Dell, MDG is still an Intel-only whore.
I guess despite court cases pending, the bribes are still flowing?

EARLIER IN THE year, AMD had already got its foot partially in Dell's
door when the Texas-based company acquired Alienware,...

Does Itanium have any competition? by
John Savard
In a discussion on another newsgroup, it was pointed out to me that the
large die size of the Itanium is justified by other things besides its
large cache.
It is also highly superscalar.
Which leads me to a question.
Is seems to me that the AMD Opteron chips are comparable in performance,
or at...
