Opteron question by Paul S.
I am contemplating the purchase of a dual processor opteron WINXP machine. The motivation is that currently several of my programs bring my processor (single procsessor machine) to its knees. So, if I get a dual processor machine my idea is that the program that currently brings my one processor...

Asus nForce 4 mobo's by Chris-John Turner
Will the new range of nForce4 mobo's have pci lock and be overclockable? Also, I know socket 939 will be supported but was wondering whether a 940 will be produced. I am building a rig at the moment and am considering an FX55 or 4000 cpu - what is the best ram for overclocking at the moment and...

A64 3100+ clawhammer by LBJGH
Anyone know what an socket 754 A64 3100+ clawhammer would be worth? It is clocked at the same speed as an A64 2800+ but has 1mb of L2 cache. I'm thinking about selling my socket 754 and getting a socket 939.

temp of AMD64 3500+ by no spam
Hello, I have just put together a machine with an AMD64 3500 CPU on an Asus A8V motherboard. I have not yet finished installing WinXP on it. However, when I initially checked and adjusted bios settings etc, I noted that the CPU temp was up 55C. Is that ok for this CPU? Thanks, Shane

good graphics card for A7V333 by Chogaire
I'm not wanting to swap out my motherboard just yet (Asus A7V333 rev 1.01), but wish to replace my aging Radeon 8500 (64MB). Can people please suggest a good card that they know to work with this board? The board only supports AGP 4X, but that's fine by me. I was looking at the 'Radeon 9600 Pro'...

cost of xp2500 and xp2600 -- 333 by Dennis
Hi all, Does anyone have any insight into why it is that Pricewatch.com reports best prices of the 2600+ to be at or below those of the 2500+? Is the 2500 as good or better than the former? Thanks.

Can 1800+ be overclocked? by Daniel Czajko
I have an Athlon 1800+. I haven't had any success overclocking it. Even if I turn the bus speed by even just a few Mhz, it'll crash as soon as I run something intensive (ex: a 3-d game). I tried turning up the voltage, too, and still no luck. And the temperature is always pretty low. Are the...

Alternatives for (tight) budget set-up: to SATA or not to SATA? by M Arino
Is the presence of a SATA option enough to make me pay 30 Euro more in a 400 Euro system? note that this difference is roughly what it would take to make, with said budget, an XP2200 based machine or a Barton 2500+ machine. Yes, things are that strict on this one... would appreciate also comments...

Shuttle I.C.E. heat-pipe technology? by Richard
Going to build a new LAN box using the Shuttle SN45G with a 2500+ (unlocked); 1 gig Samsung 2700 (with heat spreaders). Anyone used or know anything about the I.C.E. technology that comes with the box? It looks like it replaces the cpu fan one would normally use. Anyone built one of the Shuttle...
