Packet writing and XP Home by
Brendan R. Wehrung
I've had a new computer using XP Home a couple of days. I don't have any
Roxio software installed, but it appears that my computer will read files
from a CD-RW disc formatted on another computer using Direct CD under Win
'98.
I was under the impression that packet writing formats...

Recover lost files on previous session when burning a DVD using Roxio by
Martin C
I am asking this question for a friend that lives in Spain. He used Roxio
(Titanium I think) to burn a second session to a DVD and is now unable to
retrieve the data that he burnt on the first session.
After some questioning, I rather think that he has burnt the second session
without having...

INCD puzzle by
Wishy13764
I never used this crap until lately, and for the first time. I get as far as
formatting a disk and thats it. How does one get INCD to work. I click on the
application and nothing appears. I did see it on the drive in windows explorer,
but that only gets me into formatting. I can't believe that from...

Nero & Alcohol won't burn my cd images anymore... by
Joe Emenaker
Okay... this is really strange.
For the longest time, I've been able to burn bin/cue and iso files
with Nero.
Lately, this has stopped working. If I try to burn an image,
everything seems to go great except the disc doesn't work when I try
to use it (I put it in the drive and the system thinks...

BackUp MyPC: How to Slow Down the CD Burner? by
JamesDad
I've been a long-term satisfied user of Stomp BackUp MyPC (presently at
4.85) and its predecessors, going all the way back to when it was called
Conner Backup Exec for DOS. It's been the only PC backup program I've
regularly used other than the classic Central Point Backup. However, I'm
dealing...

Reliability if too many buffer underrun by
Dan G
You should be more worried about using RW discs for "backup", very
unreliable. They should only be used for copying and transferring data.
As to the under-run, no it's not a good thing. If your files are smaller
than a 32KB, it can really slow a hard drive to index and copy them, and
could cause an...

InCD and DirectCD by
Jeff Hansman
Not the same thing. Both packet write, but DirectCD can use CD-Rs , whereas
InCD required you to use the less reliable and more costly CD-RW media. I
use DCD every day, all day, and it works flawlessly. BTW, do your best to
pay no attention at all to the three-initial Roxio basher that fouls...

Reading multisession CD-RW on PC with packet writing by

converting VRO to MPG or VIDEO_TS by
Eric Gisin
I spent hours figuring out how to do this with free software, so I'll share it.
Many DVD recorders and some cameras record to DVD-R/W in DVD-VR format. This creates a VRO file
containing MPEG-2, much like a VOB. You might play it with mplayerc, but renaming it to VOB may not
work with other...
