Is the 3700+ the fastest 754 that we'll see?

Thanks for reply.

Most likely:

AMD CPU Roadmap Update

http://anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2303

As we mentioned in the last update, all of the socket 754 chips are
scheduled for EOL by Q3'05; beyond that, Athlon 64 will only be available
on socket 939.

unless you overclock it or one of the others, probably. And I wouldn't buy
a 3700+ anyway. The 3400+ runs at the same clock speed. The only
dofference between the 2 is the extra cache of the 3700+, 1M vs 512K, and
IMO, the extra PR rating is about as bogus as it gets. And the price
difference is ridiculous, $197 vs. $434 at this time. Gor 754, the 3400+
is the best deal going at this time. og course that can change it a matter
of hours with new product.

No Paris after that date? What will do the 130nm line then?

And since the Sempron PR seems to be quite a bit different ,
512KB=>2800+, 256KB=>3100+ ;-) so what @2.4GHz?), perhaps the "Sempron >=
3500+" scheduled for Q1 '06 that your link mentions, could qualify.
Who knows? (my guess is that the mkg heads at AMD do not)

There will be A64 cpu's for 754 for at the very least another 2 years. By
then the frist 939 boards will be obsolete too. No need to worry about
what will happen that far in advance.
